awakebutstillinbed – chaos takes the wheel and i am a passenger

サンノゼのawakebutstillinbedは、90年代の激しく傷つきやすいエモのサウンドとダイナミクスを内面化し、それを緊急に新しく聴こえさせるという重大な才能を持っている。彼らは2020年の ‘stay who you are’ や2022年のFor Your Healthとのスプリット作品 ‘hymns for the scorned’ といった過去のEPで本格的なパワーを見せてきた。そして今、バンドは5年ぶりとなるフルレングスをリリースする。

この秋、awakebutstillinbedは2018年のデビュー作 ‘what people call low selfesteem is really just seeing yourself as the way that other people is see you’ に続き、ニューアルバム ‘chaos takes the wheel and i am a passenger’ をリリースする。バンドは、Joyce Manor/DeafheavenのコラボレーターであるJack Shirleyをエンジニアに迎え、Algernon Cadwallader/Hop Alongのメンバーであり、Modern Baseball/Beach BunnyのプロデューサーであるJoe Reinhartがプロデュースした新作LPをレコーディングした。
