サフォーク州イプスウィッチ出身のマット・キャトリング（別名：アンダー・ザ・サン）は、2020年初頭に音楽シーンに登場し、BBC Introducing、Rave Down on Future Radio、DKFM shoegaze radioなどのステーションでラジオ放送され、すぐに注目を集めました。

Under The Sunの音楽的影響は、My Bloody Valentine、Jesu、Portishead、Boards of Canada、Seefeel、Flying Saucer Attack、The Telescopesの間にある。

Under The Sunは、Woodbridge Ambient、Norwich Psych Fest、Other Side Promotions 2022 Shoegaze Alldayerなどに出演し、Andy Bell (RIDE), bdrmm, Secret Shine, Magic Shoppe, Codex Serafiniらとステージを共にし、東アングリアとロンドンでプレイしている。
