シンガー・ソングライターのDaniel Rossen（Grizzly Bear）は、絶賛された2022年リリースの『You Belong There』を引っ提げ、ユニークで親密なツアーに乗り出した。彼はクルーも派手な機材も持たず、ソロでツアーに出た。数本のアコースティック・ギターと小さなアンプを車に積み込み、シンプルで生々しいパフォーマンスを披露した。そこから『Live At Pioneertown and Santa Fe』が生まれ、Warp Recordsからリリースされた。このアルバムには、Townes Van Zandtの名曲「Kathleen」のロッセンのカヴァーが収録されている。
このライヴ・アルバムは、Rossenとバンド・メンバーであるGrizzly BearのChristopher Bearが作曲し、高い評価を得たA24の映画『Past Lives』のスコアに続くものである。
